Park Cytadela
Park Cytadela (Polish for citadel) in Poznań is a large park located in the Winiary region, a 19th-century permanent area on the north side of the city. You will not only find green there, but also a military museum, military cemeteries, and some remains of former fortifications. The park is a great place to meet and exercise. It doesn’t matter if it´s football, frisbee, badminton or a round of volleyball, there are countless free green spaces. Even a short walk through the pretty gardens and woodland has its own charm and there are many beautiful cycle paths to discover. But there is also a place in the sun for a cozy picnic with friends where you can fall into the soft grass and close your eyes a little.
If you are lucky, you will also come across an ice cream truck where you can buy something sweet that you can enjoy on one of the many benches, maybe even in front of the beautifully built pond.
This is an unusual park in the very center of Poznań. It houses a military museum, a military cemetery and the remains of wartime fortifications. The park is beautiful, huge, and full of greenery. There are lots of places to relax, to meet up with friends to have a picnic, walk the dog or just relax in nature. We also often go there after school because of its close location.
